THE NEXT GENERATION SADDLE Featuring a new FREESTYLE tree

The design of the BAR NONE TRAIL SADDLE is more about what it's not than what it is!  It is not just about improving on old ideas; it is a philosophy of what saddle design should be, engineered from new terms of reference specifically written for the horse, rider relationship

The Freestyle tree featured in the Bar None meets all the criteria a tree was designed for; keeping the rider off the spine, providing a solid seat for good rider position, distributing the rider's weight with good stirrup placing and girth position and providing balance and comfort for the horse and rider. Bar None saddles fit a broad range of horses backs, provide close rider contact, and are lightweight and inexpensive. The Bar None has been tested on many horses and the two examples shown below (Narcisse) and to the right (Winta) are about as opposite as you can get in horse conformation, from high withers, narrow shoulders and extreme top line slope to low, wide and straight. The exact same saddle fits both horses.

[*The Bar None name and design is owned by AY Equestrian.]

Narcisse is an appendix quarter horse just over 16 hands high

He had a successful career in the English arena but at 23 years old was impossible to saddle for trail riding. Even though he performed well over the years under an English saddle he never had a saddle that fitted him properly. His English rider using a Bar None has a comfortable, well balanced seat and she says she can post just as easily as she did in her English saddle.

TREE: The Freestyle tree is made from composite materials to provide a solid seat for the rider, a foundation for the rigging and stirrups keeping pressure off the horse's back, and a strong fork to properly fit the horse's withers and shoulders.

FORK: The fork has a composite base reinforced with steel and covered in rawhide. This is attached to the seat component using a tough leather suspension that allows for a perfect top line fit.

SEAT SIZE: The tree is designed to fit riders from 14" to 16" western (15" to 18" English)

RIGGING: The rigging is mounted over the tree which keeps it from causing pressure on the spine. When cinched tight, pressure on the back is distributed evenly. The system is built from heavy nylon webbing with a 2" western rigging dee, and there is a model for an English girth incorporating 1" billets. Dees and stirrup hangers are stainless steel.

STIRRUPS: The stirrups are also attached to the tree form so that there is no pressure on one spot on the horses back, weight of the rider being distributed along the horse's back. There are two stirrup hanging positions to suit any rider position. Standard design is 2" western straps with fenders and quick change Blevins buckles. These are built in three different lengths: standard, short and long. The saddle comes with leather covered stirrups.

ACCESSORIES: Matching accessories include crupper, breastplate (English/Australian style) and back cinch with billets. Specially designed pommel and horn bags are also available.
